Happy 20th Birthday
queertheorem !!! you are officially past your teen years.
So it's been an interesting few month so far. I came back from England early September. school started for everyone else and I activated my job search. Then I spent a week and a half in Baltimore with my parents and brother, as we prepared for my cousin, Anak's wedding. My uncle and aunt flew in from Nepal, and my other cousin Aniyana from England. The house was a little crazy for a while, but it was interesting getting to see family member (other than my immediate family) again. Most of my friends get to see uncle, aunts, cousin, grandparents etc.. at least on holidays with a short drive to another state. But the last time i saw most of my aunts and uncles was at least 7 years ago when we were in Nepal. Things are so different in Nepal than in America, and some times I just don't think our family gets it. We are brown Americans with a Nepali cultured back round... but we are still Americans. I get soo sick of being asked at least 15 times a days, when will I let people arrange my perfect little plastic Nepali wedding with the prefect little brown Nepali man of their liking. Now if I had it my way... I probably burst out say Umm.. yeah I've had a boyfriend for 5 years now and we are probably gonna get married eventually, and he is VERY white and VERY American, so you can stop freakin asking me. ASS. but ..unfortunately I can't and instead I have to fake laugh it off. Ok enough about family.
So since I've been back I've talked to three different places regarding job. none of which are confirmed yet.. b/c non of them can give me a set schedule..i can't figure which i can take or not, b/c they all might overlap. Doing freelance is rough.
I talked to Phoenix Children theatre and there is a possibility for me to be their designer for their season and maybe even a stage manager, we need to work things out further. I also have been asked to design for OSU's Opera workshop but so far I told them to find someone else for the time being, b/c i could not confirm anything with them yet. Lastly I had an interview with Cirque du Soleil for their touring show Corteo. The was good and so they scheduled me in for a 2nd interview with an HR person and the Technical Director of the show. The 2nd interview lasted about an hour and 20 minutes and very really well. I was very happy with it.
However, right now I don't know anything about any of the jobs. It's like I talked it over with each group but nothing is set in stone. ...all this anticipation is driving me nuts.. and i'm really sick of doing nothing. I wanna work damn it!.
